Discord Setup

Stream SoundPainter scene audio directly to your Discord voice channel. No screen share, no audio-routing software, no OBS trickery.

1. Add the bot to your server

The SoundPainter bot only needs permission to join voice channels and speak. It does not read your messages.

Add SoundPainter bot to Discord →

2. Get your SoundPainter token + user ID

You'll need a SoundPainter account. Open SoundPainter, sign in, open the broadcast panel, and choose Discord Setup. Copy both your long-lived API token and your user ID.

3. Register your identity in Discord

In any text channel of the server where you added the bot, type:

/soundpainter token:<paste your token> userid:<paste your user id>

You only need to do this once per Discord server. The bot remembers who's tied to which SoundPainter account.

4. Start broadcasting

Join the voice channel you want to stream to, then type:

/join

The bot will connect to your voice channel. Start broadcasting from SoundPainter and everyone in that channel hears your scene audio.
